Inspired by 90s Windows drawing tools, I created intentionally imperfect, hand-drawn icons before bringing them into Figma, allowing the graphics to retain a sense of spontaneity and process. I led the visual system — including graphic direction, typography, key visuals and creator assets — while Lili brought his beautifully detailed illustrations. The concept centres on flight and attachment, imagining GAF as a point of grounding where artists gather and orbit, set within a romantic, airy vision of Shanghai. The main challenge was balancing his rich, orbit-based illustration style with clear communication. I started from typography — designing a tall, high-centred Chinese display typeface with subtle Art Deco influences, paired with a Shanghai modeng typeface to bridge Shanghai’s urban identity with his French romantic illustration. For the key visual, I prioritised information over imagery, removing the central illustration to ensure clarity across large-scale promotion. Three poster variations were developed for different contexts. For supporting assets, I kept his original composition and introduced a more playful typographic rhythm to extend the system. The visual direction reflected the natural and direct spirit of the collaboration, bringing together the existing visual languages of both brands to create an identity that felt relaxed, warm and slightly quirky. The two brands also share similar cultural and creative backgrounds, both emerging from their founders’ experiences of living abroad and continuing to build their own creative spaces through independent brand and creative practices. The final visual system became a meeting point between two distinct brand languages, while retaining the individuality and recognisability of each. At the start of the project, they shared a wide range of topics covered in the issue, including transport in developing countries, the current state of the Swiss watch industry, South Korea’s birth rate, the environmental impact of lunch and the avocado industry, why Roman statues can look so strange, and why building new housing in Western cities has become so difficult. At first, these subjects seemed completely disconnected, but they are all tied to the societies, cities and ways of living we experience today. They asked whether all of these ideas could somehow exist within a single image. It was difficult to connect so many different subjects through one straightforward concept, so rather than trying to turn each issue into a clear visual ‘answer’, I placed them together within a noisy, crowded cityscape that feels familiar at first, but slightly out of order. In the image, a lion has wandered onto the road, an avocado has gone missing, and a roadside sign that would normally warn drivers to ‘Watch for Children’ has become ‘More Kids!’. The scene appears to be an ordinary city at night, but the closer you look, the stranger each detail becomes. These colliding elements reflect the magazine’s seemingly unrelated, yet deeply interconnected, social discussions. For me, the image is also doing something that editorial magazines often do: rather than giving the reader a direct conclusion, it places a question in front of them, inviting them to stop, look, think and start a conversation. In this collaboration, I served as the sole designer, working with director Xuan Du to develop the overall campaign concept, visual identity and on-site event experience. I proposed the concept of a post-sun summer holiday, combining Polaroid photography with summer settings, expressed through gradient colours and geometric Chinese typography. For the event programme, I proposed a cyanotype workshop and collaborated with cyanotype artists to host the workshops at UNIQLO flagship stores in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. Art Direction: Xuan Du Graphic Design: Suzy Chan 2025《优衣库 x Wallpaper* 咔嚓一夏》 視覺識別 &amp; 空間延展 &amp; 品牌體驗設計 我受 UNIQLO 與 Wallpaper* 委託，參與 UNIQLO 夏季合作企劃「Click Summer」於中國旗艦店的視覺與活動設計。在此次合作中，我擔任唯一設計師，與導演
