“New Clothes” Exhibition Visual Identity

This is the design I made for the solo exhibition of artist Shao Fengtian at MadeIn Gallery. The works of artist Shao Fengtian give me a metallic feeling. The curator named this exhibition "New Clothes", which is a metaphor for "The King's New Clothes". He regards an art exhibition as a grand "performance".

In my proposal, I hope to create a stage feeling, and the artist's work is the "performance" of this stage. So the initial design went to pictures 3-5. But later we thought that this stage feeling could be more abstract, so I used contoured geometric shapes to express the stage and spotlights, overlapping each other. I used decorative fonts for both the English title and the Chinese characters, suggesting an exaggerated performance.

《新衣》 展览視覺識別

這是我為藝術家邵豐田於 MadeIn Gallery 舉辦的個展《新衣》所設計的視覺系統。

邵豐田的作品帶有強烈的金屬質感。展覽名稱「新衣」借喻安徒生童話《皇帝的新裝》，策展人將藝術展覽本身視為一場盛大的「表演」。

在設計初期，我希望透過視覺語言建構一個舞台空間，讓藝術家的作品成為這個舞台上的表演主體。隨後，我將這種舞台感進一步抽象化，以具有輪廓感的幾何形態呈現舞台與聚光燈的意象，並透過不同形體之間的疊加關係營造動態的視覺節奏。

在字體設計上，英文標題與中文字符皆採用裝飾性風格，以強化展覽中戲劇化、誇張的表演感。
